PRESCHOOL 2s and 3s

Our Toddler Program is for children 2 ½ years old to potty trained. As Toddlers turn 2 ½ they enter our Preschool 2s and 3s classroom.  Here is where they focus on Preschool readiness and have more structure in there day.

HELP WITH POTTY TRAINING

While potty training is encouraged and possibly started in the toddler program, it is heavily focused on in Transitional Preschool.

DAILY REPORTS AND PHOTOS GIVE PARENTS PEACE OF MIND

Kid Reports is a reliable resource that we use for consistent communication with our families. This app allows teachers to enter in information such as what the child has eaten, how long they napped, and even pictures of them participating in the different parts of the day.

ROUTINES HELP SUPPORT THEIR DEVELOPMENT

Children follow a consistent, yet flexible routine throughout their day. This allows them the comfort and awareness of what will be taking place in the classroom, yet also accommodates to their interests and needs.

WE’LL ENCOURAGE COMMUNICATION

We are mindful of how significant social development is at this age. We represent this importance through our face-to-face communication, open-ended questions, and social interaction we steadily encourage.

ALWAYS HEALTHY ORGANIC FOOD

All of our children are served an all-organic, and healthy menu. They are given two meals and three snacks that are nutritious and home-cooked. Our toddlers engage in family style meals where they choose their own bowl/spoon, serve themselves, and are encouraged to interact with those around them.

EARLY EDUCATION IS A KEY TO FUTURE SUCCESS

Our Highscope Curriculum is implemented in our toddler and transitional preschool classrooms.  Our teachers complete a full week orientation training, monthly continuous Highscope trainings and receive on the spot support and feedback from a Curriculum Director once a weekAs toddlers enter transitional preschool, they are exposed to more structure in their daily schedule.  Active learning is always a pillar of our approach.

Water bottle, fitted crib sheet, blanket, diapers, extra clothes and more extra clothes if potty training!

We have you covered on food, please respect our no outside food policy!  We have full time chefs onsite to prepare and serve snacks and meals throughout the day.

This is a great opportunity for our teachers to focus on encouraging new foods.  We promise it works with some teacher and peer encouragement!

Our teachers all meet the standards of Michigan’s Great Start to Quality educational requirements. Lead Teachers have either a Bachelor’s, Associate’s or a CDA.  Assistant Teachers have courses or training completed in early childhood education.

While safety and security is a top priority, you can list individuals you give permission to pick up.  We will check their ID, give them a guest pass and walk them to the classroom.

On top of a 5 full day orientation, we host trainings one evening a month that always focuses on curriculum or safety topics.  Several months throughout the year, we also host lunch trainings that teachers attend on their lunch time. We also provide weekly, on the spot training, from our Curriculum Directors!

Yes! Anytime.  We have an open door policy. Please visit, call or email as often as you’d like!

At this age, biting is developmentally appropriate – but we know it can be confusing or even upsetting for parents. As toddlers learn to express their emotions and how to communicate, sometimes this results in biting.  Our teachers and support team are here to help support toddlers better use their words when this happens.

What Parents Have to Say

I have recently started at The Learning Tree North and have had a great experience so far. Stephanie B. Is great with my younger son who has adapted really well. He loves to go each day! April B. has also been wonderful with my older son who usually has a hard time adjusting to different classrooms. He asks to go to school now which he typically did not before. Thanks Learning Tree for taking great care of my boys!

Our daughter goes to PreK at the learning tree north center. She is in Sabrina Barnes class and we adore her! She is absolutely wonderful with her curriculum and keeping things fun and engaging for the kids. Every time we go for drop off and pick up the kids are always smiling and so happy. Our 4 year old has learned SO much since she started class with Ms Bri, it's all she talks about after school! The daily class notes are sent through email and we love reading what they did, worked on and seeing pictures of the kids in their daily activities and fun. The entire center is full of such pleasant staff and you can tell they really enjoy what they are doing with the kids. The kitchen staff is also so kind and hsrdworking and serves a wonderful organic menu full of nutrition. Thank you MS Bri! Thank you Learning Tree North staff! We feel like we found a gem for our daughter!!!
