A Stocked Art Area Keeps Children Creating

We have fun keeping up with the latest and greatest “in” items to stock our School Age Classrooms. Plenty of duct tape, beads, sharpies and several other special art items are always in our classroom.

Plenty Of Time For Homework

The center understand parents are busy and encourage time for homework to be started.

Wii Games Keep Things Fun And Balanced

School agers have options of active Wii games each day to keep their bodies moving and have a blast.

A Solid Backup Plan For When School Is Out

When school is out, we are in! We have a separate back up care program for days schools are closed for holidays and professional development. We always plan a field trip to take children on when school is out.

Yummy Breakfast And Snacks Included In Tuition

Before school – we’ll get them breakfast!

After school – we’ll get them a snack on the bus on the way to us, and then at 5pm again to hold them off for dinner.

Safe Bus Transportation For Your Convenience

Bus transportation to and from your child’s school is available during the school year. All of our bus drivers hold a Michigan Chauffeurs License and have been trained in proper vehicle safety. All of our vehicles are equipped with first aid kits and GPS. Your child’s school schedule and emergency card are always carried when picking up or dropping off your child. At the beginning of the school year our drivers communicate with your child’s school to designate a safe and appropriate pick up and drop off area for children attending The Learning Tree.

Trusted Curriculum Supports Growing Minds

The curriculum for the School-Age Program differs as the children spend most of their time at school. Goals for the School-Age Program include:

  • Providing quiet area for homework and study after school
  • Be available to help encourage children with their class work
  • Provide children with games that introduce the concept of strategy
  • Encourage children to make classroom rules to develop accountability
  • Provide children with games that teach mathematics and reasoning skills
  • Off-site field trips when schools are on holiday breaks. Popular destinations include: swimming, bowling, roller-skating and visits to the Science Center

We ask parents to bring a water bottle, extra clothes on the first day. Nap Items are needed too – a fitted sheet and a blanket or stuffed animal your child is comfortable with!

Our bus drivers drive either a 14 passenger multi-functional school bus, or a minivan. All of our vehicles have regular safety checks and maintenance.

The classroom ratio is 1 teacher to 18 children. On field trips, our ratio is 1 teacher to 12 children. However, if on a swimming field trip, our ratio is 1 teacher to 4 children.

Yes! Fresh air and a change of scenery is so important for children. School Agers have scheduled time outside in the afternoons, and twice if attending a full day.

Yes! That is what we are here for! We have a separate Back Up Care Program that provides care (and fun) when school is not in session.

Safety is our top priority! We created and implement an allergy procedure that includes a special placemat used for a food allergy. While the child’s picture and allergy information is posted, the child will also use a placemat at all snacks and meal times that alert their allergy. The placemat is a great tool for children to learn about allergies and be aware of allergies. We have received amazing feedback form our state licensing consultants on how well this is implemented in our classrooms!

Our daughter has attended LT North since she was 12 weeks old. She's currently in the toddler program, and we could not be happier with the care she receives. We love Miss Brandi and Miss Noreen so much, and so does our daughter. She's kind, patient, and encourages her to be curious and independent. Brandi, Noreen, and all of the toddler teachers are incredible (and so were the infant teachers!) and we are very grateful for the care they provide.

Our family has been with LTN for nearly 4 years. Both of our kids have had such positive experiences and are well taken care of while we are at work. We absolutely love Noreen. She is patient, loving and so kind. Her calm demeanor is so reassuring to us and our 2 year old. Our daughter has really come out of her shell since beginning in her classroom and we credit Noreen and the great Toddler teachers for that.

All three of my kids have been through the Learning Tree Program. it's like their home away from home for them. Great teachers and very impress with the consistency of their teachings. Food they serve is very healthy for the kids and I think my kids were one step ahead by the time they entered school. I recommend this program and the South location to anyone who is interested in great daycare for their children.
