ENCOURAGE INDEPENDENCE, EXPLORATION,

AND WE SET THE BASIS FOR LEARNING

We Use Every Opportunity to Teach Your Toddler All The Skills They Need, Including Having Family-Style Meals, Potty Training, And Learning To Express Themselves

Our Toddler Program is for children 12 months to 2 ½ years old.

As Toddlers turn 2 ½ they enter our Preschool 2s and 3s classroom. Here is where they focus on Preschool readiness and have more structure in their day.

Our typical daily routine includes:

  • Breakfast
  • Message Board
  • Large Group Time
  • Small Group Time
  • Planning Time
  • Work Time
  • Recall Time
  • Outside Time
  • Lunch
  • Rest Time
  • Afternoon Snack
  • Outside
  • Afternoon activities

HELP WITH POTTY TRAINING

While potty training is encouraged and possibly started in the toddler program, it is heavily focused on in Transitional Preschool.

DAILY REPORTS AND PHOTOS GIVE PARENTS PEACE OF MIND

KidReports is a reliable resource that we use for consistent communication with our families. This app allows teachers to enter in information such as what the child has eaten, how long they napped, and even pictures of them participating in the different parts of the day.

ROUTINES HELP SUPPORT THEIR DEVELOPMENT

Children follow a consistent, yet flexible routine throughout their day. This allows them the comfort and awareness of what will be taking place in the classroom, yet also accommodates to their interests and needs.

WE’LL ENCOURAGE COMMUNICATION

We are mindful of how significant social development is at this age. We represent this importance through our face-to-face communication, open-ended questions, and social interaction we steadily encourage.

ALWAYS HEALTHY ORGANIC FOOD

All of our children are served an all-organic, and healthy menu. They are given two meals and three snacks that are nutritious and home-cooked. Our toddlers engage in family style meals where they choose their own bowl/spoon, serve themselves, and are encouraged to interact with those around them.

EARLY EDUCATION IS A KEY TO FUTURE SUCCESS

Our Highscope Curriculum is implemented in our toddler and transitional preschool classrooms. Our teachers complete a full week orientation training, monthly continuous Highscope trainings and receive on the spot support and feedback from a Curriculum Director once a week. As toddlers enter transitional preschool, they are exposed to more structure in their daily schedule. Active learning is always a pillar of our approach.

Water bottle, fitted crib sheet, blanket, diapers, extra clothes and more extra clothes if potty training!

We have you covered on food, please respect our no outside food policy! We have full time chefs onsite to prepare and serve snacks and meals throughout the day.

This is a great opportunity for our teachers to focus on encouraging new foods. We promise it works with some teacher and peer encouragement!

While safety and security is a top priority, you can list individuals you give permission to pick up. We will check their ID, give them a guest pass and walk them to the classroom.

Yes! Anytime. We have an open door policy. Please visit, call or email as often as you’d like!

At this age, biting is developmentally appropriate – but we know it can be confusing or even upsetting for parents. As toddlers learn to express their emotions and how to communicate, sometimes this results in biting. Our teachers and support team are here to help support toddlers better use their words when this happens.

Safety is our top priority!  We created and implement an allergy procedure that includes a special placemat used for a food allergy.  While the child’s picture and allergy information is posted, the child will also use a placemat at all snacks and meal times that alert their allergy.  The placemat is a great tool for children to learn about allergies and be aware of allergies.  We have received amazing feedback form our state licensing consultants on how well this is implemented in our classrooms!

What Parents Have to Say

We love sending our son to the learning tree north! He has learned so much in the time he has spent at the learning tree. He loves to play in the splash area they offer the toddler/preschoolers. They provide healthy meals and snacks for him. We are confident he is in the best hands all day. The kids report app. Keeps us updated with what he’s up to and pictures throughout the day!

We’ve had a wonderful experience at this location! Our son has grown and learned so much! His lead teacher, Chelsea, was great with our son (he is speech delayed). She accommodated him continuously, very patient and showed so much compassion towards him! We couldn’t have been happier! Unfortunately he has now moved onto pre school so no longer attending the Learning Tree, but highly recommend!

I can't say enough good things about The Learning Tree - Livonia North. My daughter is in the Toddler program and she just started going here in September.Heather really made my daughter's transition a smooth one. I feel confident when I drop her off that she will have a fun day of learning ahead of her.
